Mr. Scherr’s practice focuses on serious personal injury and wrongful death claims resulting from the negligence of others, including injuries and deaths caused by motor vehicle / motorcycle accidents, defective products, medical and dental negligence, premises defects, industrial accidents and police brutality.
After graduating from law school as an editor on the law review at Washington University, Mr. Scherr clerked for the Honorable William P. Turner in the Sixth Judicial Circuit for the State of Maryland. Thereafter, Mr. Scherr entered private practice concentrating only on motor vehicle accident and premises liability claims and litigation. After joining the predecessor firm to Futrovsky, Forster & Scherr, Chartered in 1995, Mr. Scherr’s practice expanded to include products liability, dental malpractice, police brutality and industrial accident claims. In 1998, Mr. Scherr was made a shareholder in the firm.
While understanding that, oftentimes, serious personal injury and wrongful death claims are best resolved through alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation, Mr. Scherr has the experience and the firm has the resources necessary to litigate cases against well-funded and well-represented corporate defendants, insurance companies and government entities. To that end, Mr. Scherr has successfully litigated virtually hundreds of injury and death claims in the state and federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Scherr is wholly aware that, in representing seriously injured clients and those who have recently lost a loved one, sensitivity and responsiveness to client concerns is of paramount importance. Mr. Scherr has structured his practice to meet the needs of his clients.
